Written by a grace believer,
saved by grace, and that by faith
Revelation
3:5 "He that overcometh, the same shall be
clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book
of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels".
Because of this one
scripture, a whole teaching is built.
What does it mean?
"He
that overcometh,"
Who is he that
overcomes?
"Who is he that overcometh
the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?"
1 John 5:5
"For whatsoever is
born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh
the world, even our faith".
1 John 5:4
"These things I have
spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall
have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
John 16:33
What overcoming,
isn't !
It isn't looking
at ourselves, and our fleshly faults,
and thinking to
ourselves that if we don't stop them,
we just may
not make it.
It is not looking
at ourselves at all.
It is looking at
the the provider of our faith, and in Him,
and His righteousness,
for our overcoming.
Hebrews
12:2 "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher
of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,
despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of
God".
Our only hope of
overcoming to the end, is through Jesus,
our faith in Him,
who overcame.
We, overcome only
by looking to Jesus,
with our faith in
Him, as our overcomer.
We do not overcome
in the flesh, flesh will never overcome.
The spirit of Christ,
overcomes,
for us all,
and that's only
part of His great love for us.
"the
same shall be clothed in white raiment;"
Now we see who are
overcomers.
We who believe!
We wil be clothed
in white raiment.
Why
white,? because that represents
cleansing.
Why are we cleansed?
because we are so
good, righteous, sinless??
No, none of us are
any of these, in the flesh,
but because Jesus
is all of these,
and we are covered
by Him, through faith.
Our only 'work '
as in the works of God,
is to believe in
Jesus.
refer to
the gospel of (John 26:28-29).
Our Lord Jesus has
been resting in His love for us,
ever since the cross.
His only work, is
in, our hearts,
through His love,
and our belief.
refer to:
(Matt:5: 8, 28--6:21--11:29--12:34--13:15--15:8
John 14:1--Acts
7:51--Acts 16:14--2Corinth 8:16--Ephes 6:6--Heb 3:10--
Heb 4:10) just to
mention a few.
When ready, He will
manifest His grace,
through our hearts,
to the heart of others,
that they may be
partakers of His wonderous grace also.
Even though He uses
our completely submitted vessels,
to this end,
it is He, and His
grace,
that is doing this
work of love,
not us, or our grace,
of which we really have none, anyway.
"and
I will not blot out his name out of the book of life,"
This is the promise
of God, through Jesus,
He will not, (never)
take us out of the book of life!
Here, He, Jesus,
is reassuring us,
that, by our
faith in Him, we are sealed,
at the moment of
our salvation,
and entered into
the Book Of Life.
Ephesians 1:13
"In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel
of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were
sealed
with that holy Spirit of promise,"
Galatians 3:22
"But
the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by
faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe."
and
what is the promise?
John
2:25 "And this is the promise that
he hath promised us,
even eternal life."
It is not by any
works of our own,
or trying not to
sin, in the flesh,
or being 'good',
lest none of us,
would be in this great book,
which is as much
as written, in the blood of Jesus.
Galatians 3:3
"Are
ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit,
are ye now made
perfect by the flesh?"
The BOOK
OF LIFE
is reserved for
us, who believe in faith,
in the saving grace
of our Lord Jesus.
Once we have been
sealed, and entered into this book,
Jesus, will not
(or never) blot us out.
And, not only will
Jesus, not blot out our name from the 'Book of Life'
but He will . .
"but
I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels".
Speak our names,
individually, each one of us, before God,
Himself, and before
His angels.
We are secure in
the love of Christ,
and He will secure
us,
(by way, of introduction,
if you will)
into the triune
love of God the Father, God the Son, and God the holy spirit, before His
angels.
(in my own personal
opinion)
I wonder if it won't
at that time, be a merged Christ/God)
since the holy spirit
is solely for us here on earth, to
show us Christ.
John 14:26
At the time above we will be in His presence.
But Jesus, God in
the flesh, is where are salvation comes through,
and that, from the
cross, and that, by grace alone,
and that, through
faith!
