OK, Is Salvation Eternal Or Temporal

Written by a grace believer,
saved by grace, and that by faith

Here are some questions,
see how close your answers line up with those from scriptures.

1.- If salvation is not eternal, but temporal, how does one keep being saved?

2. - If salvation is not eternal, but temporal, how many times can we lose it?

3. - If salvation in not eternal for all, who are saved; at what point might some lose it?

4. - If we can lose our salvation,? how then do we get saved again? and how, without putting Christ on the cross again? if the first time wasn't enough to keep us sealed? and saved?

5. - If salvation depends on our behavior, who then can be saved?

6. - If a man fathers a child, is there any way, that child ceases to be the child he fathered?

7. - How can we call God our Father, if He would put us into hell?

8. - Is there a sin, after being saved, so great, that we should know about it, so we don't lose our salvation??  Is this sin, greater than His blood?

9. - What does salvation depend on?
What Christ did for us, or what we do for Christ?

10. - If we are truly  'born again' in the spirit,  believing, by  faith, in the saving grace of our Lord,  how can we be 'unborn'?

11. - The holy promise is 'eternal life' as the Lord's inheritance to us, who believe. Will our Lord break His promise for some? and keep it for others? Is our God changeable?

12. - If one is sealed unto the Father after he believes, he is His child.  Will the Father one day, unseal his child? and not be his Father anymore?

13. - If God cannot lie, how could He break a promise?

14. - Are we saved and sealed by the holy spirit of promise, (Ephesians 1:13) at the moment of faith believing? or sometime afterwards, or at death??

15. - Who is greater than God, that he could pluck us out, of our Father's hand?

1. - One doesn't!
The end (our inheritance) has already been given,
by God,
and it is His free gift to us.
Completely and totally His gift.

1 Peter 1:8 "Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls."

3. - Acts 10:34 "Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:"

1 Corinthians 5:5 "To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus."

4. - Hebrews 6:4 "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."

First, the above verses are what Paul had to explain to the
Jews of the new church.
He is explaining  what happens, when  a Jewish person
would enjoy hearing the good news gospel,
and even accepting it for a while, as in (MARK 4:5-6) ,
but go back to the 'works of the law' of the old Testament Jewish religion.

THERES A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TASTING,
AND EATING. .

(refer to here, if you want more explaination;
not quite half way down the page,
the "Why did Paul so often say" section)

2 Timothy 1:9 "Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,"

Ephesians 1:13 "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

These persons, Paul is referring to, may have accepted the
good news gospel, but they did not believe in their heart,
to the point of trusting in Him, as their Lord.

Not staying under the new testament of grace by faith,
they fell from the gospel of grace, before they even experienced the
fullness of the grace and liberty of Christ,
that was made possible through the sacrifice on the cross.
It would now be impossible for them
to come to repentance, after that,
nor would they even know what to repent of;

They had heard the gospel,
they received with joy,
but the seed was thrown into 'thorney ground'
and did not take root.
These souls were not yet sealed by God.

5. - It doesn't! and we couldn't-

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

Mark 10:27 "And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible."

6. - John 3:4 "Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

7. - Galatians 3:26  "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus."

1 Corinthians 5:5  "To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus."

8. - Acts 26:18 "To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me."

9. - Titus 3:5  "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;"

Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not (nothing) of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast."

It is not our gift to God, to try to deserve His salvation.
It is the Gift of God,
through His son Jesus, to save us.

Given completely free and unconditionally to us,
because of His great love towards us,
greater than  the heavens and earth.

10. - John 3:8 "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit."

11. - Titus 1:2  "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;"

Acts 10:34 "Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:"

1 Peter 1:3  "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."

13. - Titus 1:2  "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;"

15. - John 10:28 "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
John 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand."

I hope no one is of the mind, that the devil,
is greater than our God.
That he could take us from the hand of our God.

Jesus went to the cross, once and for all,
We are born -again, once , into the family of God.
Now when we sin,
God deals with us as our Father, not as an outsider,
who never had eternal life.

And what about this verse?

1 Corinthians 15:1 "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
"By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain."

Paul is saying here, that you will not keep in memory the gospel of salvation, if it did not enter your heart.  Belief, only with head knowledge.

Romans 10:10 "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;"
2 Corinthians 1:22 "Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts."

God is most interested in our heart.  This is where He looks, and works.

This is one of the very important issues for Christians to understand,
in the spiritual realm!  From the mind of Christ, who is
full of abundant grace, mercy, love, tenderness,
and much long suffering, toward us.
These are only a few of His unfathomable characteristics!

And we of all life, cannot know for sure,
if someone is not saved, or even if they are saved.
It is not for us to judge this anyway,
it is all in the Lords hands.
It is God, only, that can see into the heart of man!
We can only, at best, judge between the spiritual
and the carnal, this is not judging a soul.
