THE EARTHLY MESSAGE
VERSES
THE HEAVENLY LANGUAGEthree parables-what do they tell us?
All definitions are from the original language of the
New Testement, which was Greek, the language
held by the Roman Empire at the time.
They are the closest we can get to the original meaning
today, and each word definition is cross referenced to the
context of the verse.
Jesus came to earth to do the 'work of God'
and that was to save mankind through the cross,
and that, through the grace of God.
He ministered to this work in everything He did,
preparaing us for the age to come,
and showed us the contrast to the present age of the 'law of works'John 6:28 ¶Then said they unto him, What shall we do,
that we might work the works of God?29 Jesus answered and said unto them,
This is the work of God,
that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.No one else could do the 'work of God'
this was Jesus's appointed time,
He made it clear that our work was to believe in Him,
whom God had sent, and to that end
He was ministering to the
world
Jesus spoke in heavenly language in much of His ministry,
but no one understood it then.
When the Holy Spirit came to His disciples,
He brought all things back to the rememberence that
Jesus had said while here.
Now they understood.
Paul greatly understood, now we have his
teachings to show us the heavenly language,
through the holy spirit's guidence.
John 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not,
how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
Hebrews 8:5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things. .
TURNING WATER INTO WINE
John 2:1 ¶And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee;
and the mother of Jesus was there:
2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. Not only was the mother of Jesus at the wedding, but Jesus and his disciples were also
invited to be there.
3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
Wine was customary to serve at weddings, but there was none to serve at this time.
Imagine the faith Mary had in her son, to have mentioned this fact to Him. .
One way or another she must have thought He could remedy this for the guests.4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
Then, Jesus talked to her as to any woman, and made reference to the 'new wine'
of His coming work of grace and atonement, through His blood. . on the cross. . .
'His hour had not yet come' in the giving of 'new wine' for mankind. .
5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
And now we see Mary's faith again. . refer:
Luke 2:34 And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;
35 (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.she could not have forgotten the many prophecies about her son. .
wheather she understood her son, or not, she knew him as a man of authority. .under God,
she took no note of his slightly rejecting comment to her. .
what have I to do with thee?
but knew her son would do whatever was necessary to provide the wine needed. Also Jesus must have done this, in big part because His mother asked, and He loved her.
He knew she wasn't looking for any sign from Him,
just had faith that He could fix the lack, at the wedding. .6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone,
after the manner of the purifying of the Jews,
containing two or three firkins apiece. Here we have the six purified pots. .Six, being the number of man. .
that had been ritually cleansed, in preparation for wine. .
symbolic of the purification of man from the bondage of sin,
that Jesus would soon accomplish for us, on the cross. .
7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
He ordered them to be filled with water. . this represents
mankind before the cross!
8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
Then because it was Jesus who said 'draw out now' and give to the governor,
they did as He said.
He knew once they took out a cup/glass of the 'water'
it would no longer be just water, but new wine.
9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine,
and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine;
and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse:
but thou hast kept the good wine until now.And here, the governor tells all, and he didn't even know how the wine came. .
Usually, he said, the good wine is gone by the end of most events/weddings, but not
this wine. . the host had saved the best to serve at the last portion of this event. This is what Jesus was doing here. .
He worked a mircle of the carnal nature,
to represent what he was on earth for. . .
1. He loved His mother, Mary, and had compassion on the wedding party. .
This represents 'mankind' or it may represent Isreal,
the Jewish people. .2. He turned 6 (the number of man) purified vessels of water to wine. .
This represents the cleansing (purifying) of man from the bondage of sin and guilt,
through the law, that He was to nail to the cross. . and replace with grace. .
3. The Governor- -represents the believers- -
After tasting 'this 'wine' he said, is better than the beginning wine.
The beginning 'wine' is the dispensation of the LAW of works,
and this better wine, is the despensation of Grace,
that came to us, through Jesus' work on the cross. .
The wine He gave as a free gift at the wedding. . . . . .
Just as, through His blood, He poured on us His righteousness,
and grace, and purified us from the bondage of sin. .
Jesus did the cleansing for us. . and further gave us His 'new wine'
through His shed blood,
the new covenent of grace and forgivness and righteousness. .
All of Jesus, a free gift to us.
This from Jeremiah who knew one day, we would be covered by righteousness of Jesus. .
Jeremiah 23:6 In his days Judah shall be saved,
and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called,
THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee,
and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on himEach mircle Jesus did, manifested forth the glory of God , and this first mircle did just that. .
This is the heavenly meaning, from an earthly example. .and we can refer to these verses about heavely things, spoken of by Jesus:
John 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not,
how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
Hebrews 8:5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, . . . .
Hebrews 9:20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
23 ¶It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these;
but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

JESUS' EARTHLY LANGUAGE
SPEAKS
TO HIS HEAVENLY LANGUAGEsecond parable of the
Samaritan
After the lawyer had just given the fulfilment of all the law- - IE. love God and love your neighbor
as yourself. .Luke 10:27, he asked this question:
Luke 10:29 But he, willing to 'justify' (RENDER HIMSELF RIGHTEOUS, AS HE THINKS HE OUGHT TO BE) himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
Who is the man who fell among thieves. . was stripped of him raiment,
wounded and left for dead? refer:John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.and there are 14 more references to thief/thieves in the New Testemant
31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
The priest could not help this broken and wounded man. . he turned his back on him. . .
32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
The Levite also could not help this man, and turned his back on him. . .
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
But the outcast of the day, a Samaritan, came by and had compassion on the dying man. . .
34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine,
and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
This Samaritan not only healed his wounds, but set him on His own beast,
and brought him to a place of rest,
and nursed his wounds. .with oil,
representing the holy spirit,
and wine, representing the 'new wine' coming-
of grace and mercy. . .
35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence,
and gave them to the host, and said unto him,
Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more,
when I come again, I will repay thee.
The Samaritan stayed with him, till the next day,
paid his bill to stay in rest, and be healed. .
and was prepared to pay further payment to the caretaker
for this wounded and dying man. . .
36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
And now Jesus asks the question. . . who was the neighbor to the dying man?
The priest,? the Levite?, or the Samaritan?
37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
The lawyer answered rightly. . so Jesus told him to go and do the same. . .
He was introducing something rather new to the jewish religion- -
MERCY is the key word here. . instead of the religious law!
This was before the cross,
but Jesus was teaching about grace and a new
gosple of peace, that was to be bestowed on man.. .which is the fulfillment of the law of works,
that God said He would write on the hearts of men. .
that is the law of love. . showing mercy, grace, and kindness. .
through the grace that would be given us, from Jesus. .
no longer from the written law of works.
So while Jesus was showing a foreshadowing of grace exemplified,
he was showing the difference between
the old covenant and the new covenant that was to come. .shortly!
One can use the literal, earthly meaning, and try to be a good person. . showing mercy, etc.
but the heavenly message here is this:
a foreshadowing of the work of Jesus to come. .
1.-The dying man on the road represents the spiritually dying condition of mankind. .
under the law of works. . .the old covenant.2 Corinthians 3:6 ¶Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament;
not of the letter,
but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.2.-The Samaritan is Jesus, as He is about to pay the highest
price for the wounds, of man,
which had been inflicted by theives. .
which were all the law of works,
the priests and Levites,
who did not care for the wounded. .
and all who would take away the liberty in spiritual things. .
First he set the dying man on His 'beast'
the 'beast' he set him upon, represents the cross.
He suffered His shed blood on the cross, in place of ours-
but by believing we are saved by what He did at the cross,
and He sets us right with God, by covering us with
His death on the cross. . When we are baptised in water, we
are spiritually crucified with Him. . His 'beast' He lets us partake in,
is our healing. Then He took the dying man to a place of rest. .
This is the rest spoken of here:Hebrews 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said,
As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest:
although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
and
Hebrews 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 ¶Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
Then He cared for him, nursed him,
covered him completely from the time he found him,
Then the dying man's healing begins. . .HIS SUFFERING ON THE CROSS, FOR US. . . (THE BEAST)
THE PLACE OF REST, (JESUS)
LOVING HIM, NURSING HIM, BACK TO HEALTH. (HIS GRACE)till he left, leaving instructions. . that he would return,
which He will. . . . .JESUS WILL RETURN.
3.-Jesus himself, would be wounded, stripped of His raiment, and left for dead,
by thieves, in our place. .
so we could have liberty in grace and forgivness. .
giving us righteousness,
in place of bondage, , grace and mercy,
in place of the 'letter of the law' which kills the spirit. .
Again Jesus was telling of the glory of God, and the work He was about to do for mankind.
A forshadowing of the new dispensation of love, grace, forgivness, righteousness, and peace,
all through the person of Jesus. .
the neighbor, who had the compassion on man, even in his dying state. .
********************************************************************
*********************************************************
All of Jesus work and teachings were to tell us in His heavenly language of the coming
period of grace, shed through his blood and broken body, for us. .
He tried to tell us how much God loved us through Jesus.
The last parable
THE PRODIGAL SON
Luke 15:11 ¶And he said, A certain man had two sons:
12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
Luke 15:20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
Luke 15:28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
The verse just preceeding this story is below. .
Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you,
there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. This is plainly the story of love. . divine love.
We have two types here in the sons. One is dutiful under the law, and has done all things
rightly towards his father. .another, who has been foolish, and unappreciative,
of his blessings. .
the later repents when he tastes of the
wages of sin, and returns to his
father. . in sorrow and repentance. The father is joyous, and celebrates his son's return.
The first son, however is not so pleased. . as all that he has
done, has made him self righteous, and judgmental,
void of mercy and grace. . He has lived by the law of works, yet the father loved both sons. . he has demonstrated
his love for the return of the spiritually dead son,
and has always loved the faithful son. .This gives the first son a divine opportunity to
witness love through grace, mixed with mercy.
THE FATHER represents God through Jesus
THE ELDER SON, represents 'self righteousness' under the law of works.
THE YOUNGER SON, represents the sinner saved by grace.
The elder son also represents the first covenent under the law of works,
The younger son represents the new covenent of grace without works
Both are sinners. .
but the first doesn't know his sin,
yet!
We have to know that heaven, with all the angles of God, and God Himself,
were waiting for
this coming event with it's unfathomable act of love for mankind,
a way to redeem the wretchedness of mankind in his sin,
and dying spirituality, even since the first 'ADAM'.Since the creation of man, Jesus, the second 'ADAM'
has been longed for, waited for, looked for,
by all of man, even those who didn't know it.This was the single most awesome act of love through grace,
the world has, or will ever know. .This was so big of a work of God, that we can only get a glimps
of God, almighty,
omnipotent, omniscience, ubiquitous,
(can do all, knows all, sees all, is everywhere at all times)
creator of all-
well, what kind of love is that,
that this God, wanted to suffer
for us mortals, anyway, much less, afterwards, yearns
to be in fellowship with each of us- on an intimate
spiritual and soul, and mind level!?
